Heating Oil Tank Removal
Before excavating, Salmon Bay Environmental evaluates each heating oil tank site with regard to underground utilities and determines the best removal strategy. Tanks are then; pumped out, rendered inert, excavated to the top, cut open and cleaned of sludge content. All piping is removed (fill, vent, feed and return), or capped if removal is not possible. Once clean, underground heating oil tanks are removed with an excavator and taken off-site to an approved recycling facility. Finally, pea gravel backfill is placed into the tank pit and all excavated soil is returned to its pre-disturbed origin.
