HEATING OIL TANK DECOMMISSIONING
Pump, Clean, Cap (In-Place Tank Closure)
This is the least expensive and simplest option for homeowners who need to have their underground heating oil tank decommissioned quickly and efficiently. Our ICC certified field technicians pump out heating oil, clean, and permanently cap underground storage tanks without filling them. This method greatly diminishes the contamination risks associated with underground tanks because the heating oil is removed, thus no longer poses an environmental threat.
Tank Fill (In-Place Closure)
The fill material of choice is determined by the following;
• location of the underground storage tank
• access restrictions
• structural considerations
*Our estimator will evaluate your tank site and make recommendations accordingly.
Fill Materials
• Clean Sand
• Pea Gravel
• Controlled Density Fill (CDF)
CDF is a weak cement material that is self-compacting and commonly used to fill underground storage tanks. CDF is composed of water, portland cement, fine aggregate, and fly ash or slag cement. It is a fluid material in its pour state and has the consistency of a milk shake. Like most concrete, CDF may be mixed in central-mix concrete plants, ready-mixed concrete trucks or pugmills
